Theresa
Vernon-Howe
Theresa Vernon-Howe is the first born of Easton
Vernon. She was born
in Montego Bay, Jamaica and a graduate of Mt. Alvernia High School.
She is married to Malcolm Howe (USAF Retired), of Port of Spain,
Trinidad and Tobago. They have four children, Michael, Michelle,
Leslie, and Matthieu who is in the fifth grade at Kent School.
She joined the United States Air Force in April 1979, completed
Basic Training in June 1979, and Aircraft Electrical Systems Specialist
Training at Chanute AFB, Illinois in October 1979. She began her
career as an Aircraft Electrical Systems Specialist at Altus AFB
Oklahoma. Her subsequent assignments as an electrician includes:
two years at Torrejon Air Base, Spain; two years at Ramstein Air
Base Germany; a total of eight years at Altus AFB Oklahoma; five
years at Dover AFB Delaware; three months at King Abdul Aziz Air
Base, Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Throughout her career in the Air Force she has held various supervisory
positions, including leading aircraft Maintenance Recovery Teams
(team responsible for the repair of broken aircraft) to several
locations in the Unites States, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
After a rewarding 18 years in the aircraft maintenance field,
she culminated her career in the Air Force by spending three years
working as a First Sergeant (similar to Human Resource Management
in the civilian arena).
Theresa retired from the US Air Force in April 2000 and currently
works with her husband who owns Elite International Traders Inc.
